George Winston - The Winter Show: Live Solo Piano Concert

George Winston is one of the most successful touring solo pianists in history. From 1972 to 2023, George played roughly 100 to 110 solo shows every year…almost all of those shows were sold out. His insistence on musical perfection was exemplified in his choice of venues. Although he could have sold many more tickets playing bigger venues, he insisted on performing in halls which had excellent acoustics which allowed the audiences to more deeply experience his music. To keep its natural acoustic sound, the piano was never mic’d and was always retuned during intermission to maintain the quality of the sound.

George’s shows encompassed his extraordinary talent on piano, guitar and harmonica. And the repertoire included his own compositions, fan favorites and George’s performances on Slack Key Guitar.

This album is a recording of songs from his traditional Winter concert…the first live recording of George Winston’s music.
