Ki ho’alu (pronounced kee-ho-ah-loo) is the Hawaiian name for Slack Key, the finger-style guitar tradition unique to Hawaii. The development of Slack Key began with the paniolo (Hawaiian cowboys) in the early 1800s. This tradition is characterized by a variety of tunings and the wealth of deep feelings each artist brings to the music.
