One of the most popular and cited programs of the Hearts of Space show, Ancient Evenings first aired in June 1988. The program features the early days of the techno-tribal sound with English composer Garry Hughes and music from Steve Roach's epic double album, "Dreamtime Return", which is considered one of the pre-eminent pieces of Ambient music.  Layne Redmond, universally acknowledged as one of the most important drummers in music for the spiritual/healing of her drumming, contributes tracks, with and without Tommy Brunjes.  Also included is  music from Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and premier ‘spacemusic’ composers Kevin Braheny and Steve Roach.
