Playing masterful banjo and 12-string guitar, Pete sings with gusto and soul on the Grammy-winning album's 18 tracks, which include many of his timeless classics and traditional ballads including: "How Can I Keep from Singing" and "The Water is Wide"; Leroy Carr's great blues number "In the Evening"; the activist rap song "Garbage"; and three songs recorded here for the first time: "Huddie Ledbetter Was a Helluva Man," "Natural History (Spider's Web)", and Don West's anthem on Beethoven's "Ode to Joy."

• The Gospel Voices of the Union Baptist Church Singers of New Jersey
• The Cathedral Singers from the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City
